I can’t believe most of my pre-wedding festivities have already come and gone. Jason and I will be getting married in less than 2 months this June and in BARCELONA, SPAIN!! I remember talking to him about how cool it would be to have a destination wedding and now it’s actually happening! I do plan on writing a separate blog post about my experience planning a destination wedding, pros & cons, and personal tips so keep an eye out if you’re interested.
Earlier this month, I celebrated my bachelorette party and bridal shower. I decided it would be best to do both events the same weekend since I had 2 bridesmaids flying into town. We celebrated my bachelorette party on a Saturday night in Miami. I wore a mini white dress with a short veil and all my girlfriends wore black. We had a delicious dinner at one of my favorite restaurants, Komodo, and afterward went upstairs to their new lounge/club. We had an amazing time dancing the night away to Latin music.

My bridal shower brunch was the next day at Angelos Elia in Fort Lauderdale. I had a travel themed bridal shower because…BARCELONA :). I chose pastels colors like blush, lavender, and peach for the decorations. For the centerpieces, we had a combination of white, blush, lavender, and peach garden roses. The cake was white chocolate chip with 3 layers, naked style with real flowers cascading down the side. The cake topper was rose gold with the words “Fly Away With Me”. We also had a custom banner saying “Traveling from Miss to Mrs” on the wall. For shower favors, I gave my guests blush leather passport covers. The guest list was a custom printed canvas and we had each lady sign in with a kiss. When I say “WE” I mean my amazing bridal shower planner, Amber, from Oh My! Occasions. She was an absolute Godsend and pretty much did 99% of the planning, ideas, decor, etc. She’s truly a pleasure to work with.

For the bridal shower games, we played the following:
1- Where in the world? We had 10 photos of Jason and me from various places we’ve traveled and the ladies had to guess what city and country the photo was taken in by the scenic background.
2- Who Knows Lisa Best? We had a sheet of questions and the ladies had to answer them to see who knows me best.
3- Who Am I? Each lady had to write down their favorite memory with me and I had to guess who wrote each memory.
4- Who Has The Groom? They had to scratch off a card to see if their scratch off reveals the face of Jason or a famous person. The person who got the groom was the winner.

I also want to share some of the super cute and creative shower gifts I received. My friend Carmela gave me 5 wine bottles with custom labels. Each bottle was labeled with a “first” landmark moment as Mr. and Mrs. along with a personalized poem. I loved it! Now I’m looking forward to drinking the first bottle when we celebrate our first big purchase aka our new home :). It was truly an amazing and unforgettable weekend! Far beyond what I dreamed it would be like. I’m the luckiest girl to have such an incredible group of friends and family. Barcelona here we come!

Hi Lisa!
My Fiance and I are also planning our wedding in Barcelona for next May. Any advise on who to contact to help with the legalities/paperwork? Any advise/guidance would be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!
Hi Stef,
Congrats!! that’s amazing! I do recommend getting legally married in your country. Also, hiring a local wedding planner. email me if you need me to pass along my planner’s info!
I love that first game idea “Where in the world?” Will have to remember that for my bridal shower 🙂 Also, those bottles of wine are such a cute gift idea!
